Why before/after works so well
People don't buy services — they buy transformations. Before/after shows the transformation without explanation. The recognition mechanism: the viewer looks at the "before" and thinks "that's my garden." Subconsciously. Then the "after" gives them a mental image of what's possible. At that point, the ad has already half-sold itself.
How to make before/after content that converts
Film every project before you start — this is the step most landscapers miss. On the first day, before touching anything: 10 photos and a 30-second walkthrough video.
Edit with CapCut or InShot (both free). No logo or text in the first five seconds — that's when people swipe away. Add only your business name at the end. Keep it under 30 seconds: 10 seconds before, 20 seconds after.
