What Groeneveld Tuinen taught us: the system that delivers serious enquiries every week

In 2024 we launched Groeneveld Tuinen not as a regular landscaping business. We launched it as an experiment. The question was simple: can a landscaping business — with no word-of-mouth, no brand recognition, no existing client base — generate serious enquiries consistently through a system?

The answer is yes. Here's what we learned.

The starting point: a blank slate

Groeneveld Tuinen started with nothing. No clients. No reviews. No network. Exactly like many landscaping businesses that come to us: great at the work, but no machine to keep it full.

We wanted no advantage from existing relationships. We wanted to know if the system works without that — which makes the outcome more transferable to your situation.

Step 1: building visibility

Before you can follow up on enquiries, people need to find you first. We built three layers of visibility.

First: Meta Ads targeting homeowners within 40km with properties worth €400K+. That profile correlates with project values of €5,000 and above.

Then: an optimised Google presence — business profile, first five reviews and three targeted regional pages. Not SEO tricks, but because people searching "landscaper [city]" are ready to buy.

Finally: organic content on Instagram — mainly before/after shots of live projects. Not inspiration content. Evidence.

Step 2: follow-up within 60 seconds

This is where most landscapers fail. An enquiry comes in. The owner is on a roof. The lead waits. An hour later you call back — but the client has already called three others.

We built an automatic follow-up system: the moment an enquiry arrives, the system sends a WhatsApp within 60 seconds. Not generic. Not "thanks for your enquiry". Personalised, with their name, and one concrete question: when do you want to start?

The response rate on that first message is 71%. Of those who respond, 68% book a call. Those numbers are consistent across multiple months.

Step 3: qualification — not every enquiry is worth a conversation

Without qualification you waste time on people comparing prices, not people who want a project done. We built an intake form with three filters: desired start date, project description and postcode area.

Leads outside the service area get a friendly automated message. Leads without a clear project idea go into a nurture sequence. Only qualified enquiries reach the calendar.

Results after 90 days

After 90 days the system ran fully. The numbers:

34 enquiries through the system. 22 progressed to a conversation — a qualification score of 65%. 8 projects closed. Average project value: €12,400.

That's €99,200 in revenue in 90 days through a system that runs largely automatically. The owner spent an average of 4 hours per week on follow-up and conversations.

What you can take from this tomorrow

You don't need to be Groeneveld Tuinen to use this system. But there are two things you can do tomorrow.

First: add a WhatsApp trigger to your enquiry form with an automatic message that sends within 60 seconds. That doesn't require a complex system — Growzy or a simple automation is enough.

Second: add three qualification questions to your form. When do you want to start? What's the project? What's your postcode? Those three questions eliminate 35% of time-wasting conversations.
